This did make a noticeable difference in the stability and consistency of the performance across the property. ( I’m not able to assign credit to developers from either SS or App(xyz) for the improvements) But just as it is easier now than it was in years prior to successfully integrate and use Microsoft account and products on our Apples and vice versa.īest thing we did do, which did removed some functionalities to some devices, and added maybe a feature or two to others, was down loading directly and eliminating the “ Kool-aid infested, “store” bought” versions of the apps. ( due to age, and other factors, Cahes, and disc clean ups are run often)Īs anticipated - not all apps performed or allowed log on with the VPN on, however, this improved steadily over the two years. MacBooks - if idle or otherwise have a stale connection, a restart of SS 8/10 got things realigned. SPeeds - across the board always great actually… some times the preferred servers are taking a mental health day, totally broke down … change it up, no problems. Unsure, but as communication did deteriorate- in the last 2 years especially, getting an understanding or help is now just not something I attempt first from live chat. It’s had been frustrating with the speed and quality, followed by the seemingly painful growing pains as features are rolled out new to “device 1” but are smooth and 2+yrs old on “Device 2” (with the same native OS) And Sony Google Smart TV, two iterations of iPad one obsolete one new enough to know better ? In 2nd year now. We’ve got a reason for appreciating the unlimited devices : One of our MBP’s is a few years old - doesn’t have the latest Os, Couple of newer <2 yr old android phones, Linux employer laptop, MBA 3 yrs old, two XR’s, android smart tv, and “Dumbass Never was that smart” LGTV. And while Surfshark isn't perfect, nor close to it, I've seen plenty of software that isn't either. When I see these types of posts, I strongly believe the problem is with the OP's configuration. And neither does downvoting people who state that they don't have the same problem. Ranting on a user forum with a list of problems, expecting sympathy won't get you anywhere. And, every once in a while, the only way to fix a major issue was to totally reload the pc. I worked in support of CADD and Engineering software, and while it worked very well for most people, we often were able to solve user problems over the phone, but once in a while, we had to have the machine in front of us to solve their issues. In many cases - Surfshark included - the only way to solve issues is a thorough look at the persons machine. With Surfshark as well as numerous other apps, I often see issues particular to a specific user, due to their configuration and other apps that may be interfering. I didn't see OP asking for help - only a list of complaints. Doesn't work properly with WireGuard open source app all the time (more like hit-and-miss).Speed varies terribly while connected, no matter what is the server load. I cannot set a country and the fastest among states. ![]() ![]() The speed is barely usable, and I feel like I am back in 1990.Many protocols disappear frequently, so I cannot set one I get the maximum speed all the time.Protocols like UDP are not available on Mac.Clean web is another pain where most of the renowned sites don't work, such as LinkedIn learning.I am forced to install the bloody bloat AV with VPN, which I will never use.It doesn't stay on the system tray automatically, need to manually close the window during startup.Browser extensions do not provide a kill switch, so I am leaking my IP as it drops connection frequently.Features are not consistent throughout different OS, e.g., mac doesn't have a kill switch. So I am being interrupted many times a day. Kill switch is a pain as it drops the connection all of a sudden and remains disconnected despite the auto connection being turned on.It refuses connection for 24 hours several times a week.Things I have been facing which are not solved with a handful of customer support chats. I am regretting why I didn't take the deal of Proton VPN!!! The first 30 days were considerable if you compare the price. The pain will increase once the 30 days are over. You are screwed from the day you bought it. This is not a VPN, but a pain in the ass. Now I am regretting every moment why I did not ask for a refund. ![]()
